Greenland, Day before Leaving

Hi my name is Eva, Mikaels daughter. My dad will be going to Greenland for a month and a half to ski across the icecap. When he is gone both me and Hannah will be writing his posts for him so you know how he is progressing. He will be calling by satellite every 3 days and I will write what he says from his perspective.
Mikael:
I am in Tassiliaq, Eastern Greenland and we are planning on leaving tomorrow if the weather is good. Right now, it is rainy, misty and a lot of wind in Tassiliaq. We have to travel 3-5 hours to a place called Isortup where we are going on and up to the ice. That’s the idea for tomorrow. It won’t only be Anders and me, there will be 3 other people as well and we will be together for 3 or 4 or 5 days up onto the ice. This is basically due to the issue with polar bears, there is a lot of polar bears here so we have to help each other doing night watch by looking out for polar bears. We look for polar bears 1 and a half hour each through the night. I’m looking forward to leaving, I’m not through with all my gear but almost, I’ve packed everything, and there’s been a lot of redoing. Anders is the also the perfect person to have as a partner on this trip. Looking forward to it all!
