The day after returning from a conflict area
I can´t sleep. I am coughing. I have picked up some kind of an eye infection. I feel like I have been run over by a buss. I have a slight fever. And my brain is overworked. It is churning out images, thoughts, worries, beauty, ugliness, horniness, fear and some kind of joy. All at the same time.
I have returned home to the girls in Malmö. After spending a week travelling to one of the most brutal conflicts areas on earth. Nagorno Karabakh. Human brutality and suffering of the worst kind.
It is also a politicised situation. Of the worst kind. I am not getting invoved that.
I did come across some of the most fantastic people I have ever met. In the most horrifying circumstances. I will tell you those stories.
I need some time to process it all. The absurdity of war and conflict.
I made some new great friends! Emil, Leyla, Ulavayya, Thomas and Y. Tremendous warm characters, human beings and personalities which made a huge difference.
Travelling with Sofie is always a joy. With her huge heart, professionalism, knowledge and warmth it makes an important difference to any job. And people we meet. She co-writes the articles coming up. And illustrates them with her great photography.
Thanks to my old buddy Maria too, who is never boring. When we travelled from Kastrup Airport to Malmö yesterday we laughed like mad. Uncontrollable. People looked at us thinking we were stoned, drunk or just not…Scandinavian. Uncontrollable laughter is not seen upon as good in our culture. Another absurdity!
A few of my own shots with the Ipone to illustrate the absurdity of the situation!
