Den senaste tiden har vi fått uppleva fantastiska norrsken runt åttatiden på kvällen, det är ett sant privilegium att få se detta i det närmaste skådespel. Igår gjorde jag veckans första av fem löpturer, kortaste sträckan, 6 miles (9.66 km) som tar mig runt samhället ett par gånger, upp och ned. Igår var det med vindkyleffekt en -15 grader och som alltid var det, även om det i det närmaste är kolmörkt förutom gatlamporna, storslaget vackert med världens friskaste luft. Men igår, ja, det var det vackraste av löpturer jag gjort. Nästan hela timmen hade jag sällskap av detta fantastiska skådespel. Jag hann t.o.m. hem till stugan, ta fram stillbildskameran och äntligen få till några skapliga foton, men än är de inte helt perfekta. Svårt att beskriva upplevelsen, men om jag skall ta och använda mig av lite större ord och fraser, så känns det som man är en ynka liten damm fläck i universum och att livet är kort och det gäller att leva fullt ut!
Imorgon gör tjejerna sin sista dag på respektive lärocentrum och jag tycker de har gjort en fantastisk insats. Än är det en bit kvar till grönländskan men de har fått fina vänner och stormtrivs. Jag ser fram emot ett kort avbrott i att lämna och hämta…det händer inte så mycket nu på några nivåer, livet här har avstannat i julförberedelser och så, en extremt lugn tid.
Ännu inte så mycket snö, tyvärr.

During the last week we have been blessed with the most extraordinary Artic Lights (Aurora Borealis) at around 8 p.m. A true privilege of life! Especially the one yesterday during my 6 mile run, which is part of my 5 day run a week to prepare for a 50 km Ultrarun next autumn. The temperature was around -10 C, but with the wind chill -15, but with a clear star studded sky. Suddenly the northern lights started their extraordinary show! This was indeed one of the most beautiful runs I have ever done and I was given this lightshow for almost the entire hour. I even managed to make it back to the cottage, grab the still camera and finally shoot a few good ones, thanks to a friend who have taught me how to take photos of this privileged happening! I find it hard to accurately describe this happening, but if I were to raise the level of word- and phrase use, I´d say it felt like I was nothing but a dusty speck on the mirror of Universe and once again, it made me realize the importance at living at full speed knowing life can end any minute!
The daughters are doing their last day at school today and I think they have done an excellent job in fitting in without any complaints. Sure, there´s still a way to go to fully understand Greenlandic, but most important they have nice friends and enjoy life fully. Me personally look forward to a break in the daily activity of living and picking up! Having said that, life is really, really slow right now.
